This is a high-tech ball bearing based and highly modular universal spool holder designed for Up Mini enthusiasts. You can mix and match components to accommodate other spool sizes and printers seamlessly. Currently, the following filamen spools are fully supported: Nunus ABS and PLA 1Kg spools: These are ideal for 3D printing with temperatures ranging from 230-260°C, and boast the following specifications: - Interior diam.: 56mm - Exterior diameter: 180mm - Width: 95mm PP3DP original ABS & PLA 700g spools: Perfect for high-performance 3D printing with temperatures up to 265°C. Here are their key specs: - Interior diameter: 52mm - Exterior diameter: 200mm - Width: 56mm 3DPlastX ABS 0.8Kg spools: Designed for heavy-duty 3D printing with temperatures up to 220°C, they feature the following characteristics: - Interior diameter: 73mm - Exterior diameter: 175mm - Width: 95mm You can easily modify (6) to suit other printer types, (8) and (9) for different interior diameters, and (3) for various widths. Instructions: To assemble the spool holder, you'll need: - A cheap 6201 type Ball Bearing (32/12/10) - 1pc - Hexagonal cap M6 x 30mm screw - 1 pc - Hexagonal cap M6 x 80mm screw - 1 pc - M6 nuts - 2pcs - Some ABS/universal glue First, print all components (0) through (9) in ABS. Next: * Fix the 6201 ball bearing between (0) and (1) using a 30mm screw and a M6 nut. Secure it tightly. * Mount the nut on the small side for extra stability. * Add some threadlock to prevent any further adjustments. * Insert an M6 nut into (7). * Install the ball bearing in (7), securing it with (4) and some ABS glue. Now: * Attach (1) to (6) with a dab of ABS glue, then let it dry completely. * To adapt for different spool internal diameters, use either (8), (9), or none at all. Finally, when using the spool holder: * Insert your filament into (7). * Add the finishing touch by attaching (5). * Lock everything securely with (2). I find this universal spool holder a significant improvement over the stock one from Up Mini. I hope you experience the same ease of use!
