Bearing for a syringe hydraulic crane with a wide angle range (>180°, hor) . Most syringe hydraulic cranes from the internet (youtube etc..) can turn in the horizontal plane. These cranes have a simple construction to convert the plunger movement into a rotational movement. The maximum angle of rotation is therefore limited to only about 40 degrees. I have designed a syringe crane base which turns about 200 degrees, using 10ml syringes with 65mm plunger displacement. It is based on a ball bearing. The bearing consists of a PETG disk with 12+6 concentric holes. For the 18 metal balls I used 4mm balls from old rollerblade bearings. The main parts of this bearing construction are: - rack, 24 teeth - spur gear 24 teeth - disk with 12+6 concentric balls, 50mm diameter - base plate - nut, M7 All parts, with the exception of the metal balls, were printed on a 3-D printer in PETG. A syringe plunger is connected to the rack, which drives the spur gear. The axis of the spur gear drives the crane body. I used a small engaging piece for a better force transmission, this probably not necessary. The holes in the disk for the 4mm balls are 4.2mm in diameter and have a depth of 2.2mm. The balls are pressed into the holes and can move freely but not jump out. The balls roll freely between the disk and the base plate. The bearing, the crane and the manual syringe controllers are designed and simulated in Fusion 360 (CAD). The parts are printed on a 3D printer, Filament used PETG.
