Ball Bearing Filament Guide for Replicator 1 / CTC / FlashForge
thingiverse
I was looking for an uncomplicated filament guide for my CTC 3D printer since it didn't come with any way to prevent the filament from getting tangled up in moving parts or sticking to the printer casing. The round guide offers low friction for extreme movements of the print head and the ball bearing lets the filament slide effortlessly back and forth while printing. In addition to the printed one-piece filament guide, you will need a standard 15x10x4 ball bearing from an RC car and three zip ties to secure the guide to the printer. I printed the PLA part with a 10% infill setting to make it flexible enough to bend open and slip the bearing inside. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.27 (or anything between 0.2-0.3) Infill: 10-20% Post-Printing Bend the guide open and slide the bearing into place. Secure the bearing with a zip tie in the designated spot below. Use two zip ties to secure the guide to the existing slots next to the main cable harness on the back of the printer.
