Ball and Stick Puzzle
thingiverse
I'm thrilled by puzzles! One I came across at a yard sale really sparked my interest. When I got back home, I thought why not build a 3D model of the puzzle and make one for myself. Originally, I used wood because I didn't have access to a 3D printer then, but now I do. This puzzle isn't that tough to assemble - once you've got the trick down. So, I created pictures showing all the parts in different colors, and even included labels and quantities on the main image for better understanding. Here's a tip: if you want to make it even more challenging, try using the same color for every piece or switch up the color of each part. That's exactly what I did with my wooden version - it added an element of symmetry or design style. To start assembling the puzzle, you need to either mill or print all the parts attached here in their respective quantities. Don't forget to look at these counts: 8 times Stick_Puzzle_Long1 4 times Stick_Puzzle_Long2 12 times Stick_Puzzle_Ball 4 times Stick_Puzzle_Short1 8 times Stick_Puzzle_Short2 12 times Stick_Puzzle_Short3 Note that you should sand the edges of any turning pieces to ensure they fit tightly. You'll also need to mark the corresponding edges on the drawing.
