Ball and Socket Joint
thingiverse
The headphone clamp was not sitting flush with my desk, so I designed this innovative ball and socket joint that perfectly contours to the curvature of the holder when it bends. Installation is a breeze: simply screw in the new screw about halfway, then line up the socket on top of the holder (directly across from the ball). Keep screwing until the joint catches, then release your grip on it. Continue screwing until the ball fits snugly into the socket. You can then unscrew as needed to slide the clamp onto your desk and tighten it up as you normally would. -Important- I strongly recommend printing at least the socket in PETG or another material that is not prone to brittleness like PLA. If you don't, it will likely snap either when inserting the ball into it or when tightening the screw down.
