The radiant god Baldr invites his fellow gods to test his newfound invincibility, and they eagerly agree to play along. In the background, Odin and his wife, Frigg, sit regally enthroned, observing the scene unfold before them. Meanwhile, Loki, disguised as one of them, sneaks up on Baldr's blind brother Höðr and secretly attaches a mistletoe-tipped arrow to Höðr's hand.
