Bald Eagle Right Forelimb
sketchfab
The skull of a bald eagle's right wing is preserved in a fluid-filled jar at the Florida Museum of Natural History. A three-dimensional model of this specimen was created by Karina Riddell using advanced software called Volumegraphics VGStudioMax 3.3, which converted a CT scan taken by a Phoenix V|Tome|X S into a detailed image. This model was made to help teach students about the anatomy of vertebrates as part of an educational project at the UF Center for Precollegiate Education and Training workshop called "3D Vertebrates: From Museum Shelves to Classrooms." The scanning and modeling process was supported by the oVert project at the University of Florida, which is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF DBI 1701714).
