Bald Eagle Feather

Bald Eagle Feather

thingiverse

This is a majestic Bald Eagle Feather - From the right wing - a "Secondary" or "Inner Primary". My heartfelt thanks go out to my dear friend Keith Hansen at the Wildlife Gallery in Bolinas, California. It was there that I wandered into his gallery, asking if I could scan something truly remarkable, and Keith kindly presented me with a stunning giant feather. After scanning this magnificent feather with an incredibly high resolution of 40k points per square inch, I was able to create this fantastic model! There's both a simplified version and a high-quality version available - remember, when it comes to 3D printing this item, be sure to give it a strong shell thickness. I carefully trimmed the fuzzies at the base of the feather; the scanner tends to pick up ugly noise there. I'm thrilled to have been able to share this with you and hope that it inspires you to create something truly remarkable - perhaps even human wings or a beautiful feather pen! There's more to come, so stay tuned!
