Balance Board
thingiverse
I designed a rounded half-sphere with mounting holes that can be screwed onto a board to create a balance board. Several similar designs were available on Thingiverse when I created this model, including the Ankle Board, but I disliked having the screw in the top as it compromised the primary balance surface. I also wanted to make the shape adjustable, similar to high-end brands that consider their flatter dome design a marketing advantage, and claim it offers a superior user experience. This allows users to customize various aspects of the balance board, including the diameter of the screws, the total size of the board, and the height of the dome. To ensure a smooth process, I recommend planning your project beforehand so you can print a dome that perfectly suits your needs. Additionally, this design accommodates wood screws with tapered heads and positions them neatly in the mount plate. I provided three different models: two have support trees generated using MeshMixer, while one model does not require any additional supports in the slicer software as it already contains minimal "trees" to facilitate printing.
