Bakers Rack Carpet Stabilizer Pedestal
thingiverse
I placed my Solidoodle 3 printer on a 3-shelf Baker's Rack; however, it kept tilting due to the print head moving at high speeds. I attempted to stabilize it by using large carpet moving pads (thin tin discs with felt) but they bent and were not effective enough. As a solution, I designed an attachment that features "spikes" on its bottom to improve contact with the ground and reduce movement. This modification proved successful for my first project. My rack has 25mm posts, and the .STL file includes a 25.5mm hole for them, which fits but not perfectly. For future prints, I recommend making the hole 26mm or scaling X and Y to 1.1. Additionally, reducing the height between the post hole and spikes can save filament usage. I printed mine at a .25mm layer height, .50 infill, honeycomb pattern, with supports for the post hole. The resulting attachment provides stability, but if you have thicker carpeting, you may need to lengthen the spikes for optimal performance.
