Some details have been changed for looks/ printability. Great for WW2 of course, but these have been used all over the world and are still used to this day! While this has been constructed to be easy to PRINT it is COMPLICATED to assemble. Print out some of all the parts, play with assembling it, THEN plan and print out what you need for your project. Since this is a reasonably accurate recreation of a Bailey Bridge, you should be able to reconstruct any specific bridge, from any specific crossing. Or if you desire you can make a bridge in any state of construction or delivery. I have included one drawing of the components from an original manual, but it would serve you to go find a complete user-manual for the real bridges to make your project accurate. Brief instructions at the bottom of this page, with assembly photos in the slideshow. Image is of model printed in 1/52 with March to hell 28mm Russian and Sherman easy 8 in 1/52 for scale. Please don't print this in resin, the parts are huge and spindly and will not survive being played with on a tabletop. It's also all flat so it looks good enough on filament. Scale by 1.56 for gaslands / hotwheels / 1/64 Scale by 1.786 for 28mm / 1/56 || 1/52 (x1.92) IMO looks best for heroic 28mm. Instructions: -Glue "Panel halfs" together to make full panels -Glue right and left panel with end post together -Make panel walls of the correct length for your bridge (example is 3 panels long) -If you want a double-panel bridge(as I have in the example), glue the 2 bracing frames to the top of each panel. -Insert and glue in "transom" I beams (where these are glued matters a TON, so dry fit EVERYTHING) - glue other side of bridge to transoms(again, be super careful). - Glue on the "stringer edge" pieces with the bumps first, align the middle bar to the nubs on the transoms - glue on remaining stringers - glue on "chess" boards to the stringers, aligned to the nubs on the edge stringers. - glue on "ribands" or curbs to each side on top of the chesses. there are both the "old" and "modern" ribands. I would use the "modern" ones for anything post-mid-cold war. - if desired: glue the walkway supports to the end of the transom I-beams, they slip fit into the "I" shape. then glue the walkway to the flat "top" of the supports. For gaming: place these as outboard as possible to support model bases. For those of you that are modelers these should be placed inboard and a pole with guide wire drilled through the end. - Make ramps out of stringers and chesses. - Do all the terrain finishing goodness.
