BAHTINOV FOCUSING MASK FOR MEADE ETX-125 OTA

thingiverse

Bahtinov focusing mask is an indispensable astronomy tool that simplifies manual star focusing. The mask is positioned in front of the telescope's aperture, allowing for precise adjustments to be made. Pointing the telescope at a bright star enables users to evaluate its performance. The mask generates 3 diffraction spikes: two form an "X" shape, while another spike intersects it, creating a "Ж" pattern. As the telescope focus is adjusted, the central spike shifts left or right relative to the "X" spikes. Achieving precise focus results in symmetrical patterns. Designed specifically for Meade ETX-125 OTA with 127 mm (5") clear aperture, 1900 mm focal length (f/15), and 148 mm OD, this 3D-printed Bahtinov focusing mask is constructed from black ABS filament on a delta printer.
