Bahtinov astrophotography mask for camera lens or telescope
thingiverse
Bahtinov mask designed for either a telescope or a camera lens. The main difference between this and other masks I've found is that this one is designed to work on either a normal camera lens or a telescope. That means allowing a very fine mask with a lot of thin bars, including a fitting for the camera's filter threads, and having a handle that makes it easy to remove the mask without inadvertently changing focus. The images include three photos taken through the mask to show how it works: one with focus a bit too close, one a bit too far, and one just right. The camera mask has very thin walls in the mask (0.45mm). I had to turn on "detect thin walls" to slice it properly (using PrusaSlicer, I haven't tried any other slicers). Included are two STL files for telescopes (a 6" Celestron and an 8" Celestron) as well as an STL that fits onto a 77mm filter thread (tested with a Nikon lens). The openSCAD code is also included. The code is set up so you can customize for any size/configuration you'd like.
