Baghdad Tower (Arabic: برج بغداد) stands tall as a 205 m (673 ft) TV tower in Baghdad, Iraq. Initially known as International Saddam Tower, it was inaugurated in 1994 and took the place of a communications tower obliterated in the Gulf War. Perched atop this towering structure is a revolving restaurant and observation deck that offers breathtaking views. Following the 2003 invasion of Iraq, American soldiers claimed occupation of the tower and subsequently renamed it.
