this is a scale model of the baghdad battery. archaeologists discovered around twenty of these near the city of baghdad, dating back centuries. they are truly ancient artifacts. to learn more about this historic device, follow this link to a detailed description: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baghdad_Battery you can also view my youtube video showcasing this remarkable item, including voltage measurements taken on an oscilloscope: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaAzrUVLQeA assembly instructions are as follows: the 2mm wall is recommended for optimal printing. alternative thickness options have also been provided. one stl file has no bottom and requires special attention during printing. the design features a flange on the opening that needs to be oriented upside down while printing. to achieve a smooth interior surface, tape the bottom securely and pour in fiberglass resin, stirring it thoroughly before allowing it to harden. this modification will enable you to add liquids inside without risking damage to the plastic. note the following electrode specifications: 5/16 iron rod: galvanized for added durability, measuring 160mm in length. 3/4 copper pipe with an outside diameter of 22mm and a total length of 95mm. connect a small wire to this copper tube for secure electrical connections. the vase measures approximately 150mm high and features a circular base with a diameter of 95mm. spacers are included for securing the electrodes in place, designed as a snug push fit. the cap fits loosely within the jar, with a central hole left intentionally narrow for optimal flexibility. drill out this center hole to accommodate either 5/16 or 8mm rod for improved stability. don't forget to drill a corresponding hole for the copper tube's connecting wire.
