I replaced the old suitcase handle with a new one that comes in two different heights. The original handles were made of rubber and proved to be quite fragile under tension. In contrast, this new handle is remarkably sturdy but does add some extra bulk to the suitcase. To keep things balanced, I fabricated a shorter version for the side.
