Bag Support / Crate / Basket

The trash bag slipped into the recycle bin once again, and I'm left wondering why this keeps happening. I had used the little hook on the side of the bin to tighten the bag's edge around the edge, but that didn't seem to make a difference. When I added even a small amount of recycled material, the bag's edges slipped right off and it fell in again. I have to admit, this isn't a common problem for me, so maybe I'm just being picky. I think the quality of this particular trash bag was subpar, and it was rather thin. That might be why it didn't hold up well in the bin. It's mind-boggling that manufacturers design bins that are deeper than the actual trash bags you'd put inside them. It seems like a silly oversight, but I guess that's just how things go sometimes. I decided to take matters into my own hands and design a support system for the bottom of the bin. This way, the bottom of the bag will have something to rest on, preventing it from slipping off. The dimensions are such that you could put two of these supports next to each other at the bottom of a wider bin for maximum functionality, but one should suffice. Is this the best solution to this problem? Probably not. It's definitely not a perfect fix, and there might be better ways to handle it. However, I'm willing to give it a shot. One thing to keep in mind is that this design only prints well on printers with large build volumes. If your printer has limited space, you might run into issues when printing this model. Additionally, the print process takes a long time and uses up a significant amount of filament. On the bright side, you can use this design for more than just trash bags. You could also use it to create crates or baskets. Just keep in mind that there are probably cheaper options available on the market that don't require hours of printing time. Despite all these limitations, I had fun designing and printing this support system. It's not perfect, but sometimes it's nice to try something new and see how it turns out. Print Settings: Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer Model: TAZ 6 Rafts: No Supports: No Notes: The model has notches at the corners where it rests on the build plate. This makes it easy to remove the print once it's complete.
