The BAe Systems Hawk is a British single-engine, jet-powered advanced trainer aircraft that made its first flight at Dunsfold, Surrey, back in 1974 under the Hawker Siddeley Hawk name. Since then, it has been manufactured by British Aerospace and subsequently by BAE Systems. The Hawk is utilized for training purposes as well as serving as a low-cost combat aircraft. The Royal Air Force operates the Hawk, with notable inclusion being the Red Arrows display team, while many foreign military forces also utilize this plane. Production of the Hawk continues in the UK and under license in India by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), having sold over 900 Hawks to 18 operators worldwide.
