My nephew, who's studying biology, commissioned this project from me. He needed a model of a cross-sectioned bacteria to study its internal protein structure and make a presentation for his university work. The project is made from white PLA plastic and painted, except for the helical protein part, which is simply a pure 1.75 mm red filament portion. The base is made from wood and varnished.
