This small, often hidden boulder sits on the southeast slopes of Cranshaw Thorn Hill, on the west side of Backstone Beck, Rombalds Moor, West Yorkshire. Referred to in Boughey & Vickerman’s 2003 publication ‘Prehistoric Rock Art of the West Riding’, the carving was added to ERA by the CSI: Rombalds Moor Project as ‘Backstone Beck 01’ in 2013. Boughey & Vickerman (IAG) describe: ‘Small, low rock with roughly triangular surface exposed. One cup and almost complete lipped ring with possible satellite cup, one other cup and possible cup in very worn depressed area.’ A more detailed description can be found on ERA.
