Backpack Strap Manager - 20mm - Backbone Strap
thingiverse
The Backbone Strap is the answer to loose hanging straps. Use these straps by rolling a loose strap then securing it down with an elastic band. These straps are tough as steel so they won't come undone, they leave no sticky residue like tape, and are easy to move or take off. I actually sell these on my Etsy shop (link below) but I wanted to share my creation with the maker community. You would be surprised to find out that this simple design went through many many revisions. This strap currently fits 20mm straps, which is a common size for most backpacks. You will need to cut an 1/8 inch elastic cord (example link below) to 4.5 inches and thread it through the two holes. You can secure the elastic with a small zip tie. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LFSPPOC/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 As a veteran, when out in the field it is essential to keep our straps tied down. We used to use either tape or Velcro. But the Velcro always came undone, and the tape left a bunch of goo behind. Neither were particularly easy to adjust. After about 20 prototypes I finally came up with the solution you see here. I use this product every day now and thought I would share it with the world. I hope you enjoy the tidiness as much as I do.
