Backlash Reducer for Overlord / Overlord Pro

UPDATED IMPROVED VERSION AVAILABLE HERE: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1421326 This backlash eliminator makes it easy to mount a spring or rubber band on arm joints of the Dreammaker Overlord / Overlord Pro effector to reduce backlash. Print 12 copies (1 to start with to adjust settings), obtain springs or rubber bands of suitable size and force, and attach them over the joints. Use at least 50% infill and a shell thickness of 1.2 mm for optimal results. Print it with support and orient the flat surface downwards on the bed. Mounting Instructions: Put a spring/rubber band on one backlash eliminator, then attach/slide the part onto a joint. Next, put the spring on the other backlash eliminator, pull it back to tighten the spring, and slide it over the other joint. This will be the simplest method to mount the part. IMPORTANT [1]: Before attaching these backlash reducers, remove the dust filter from the fan cooling the hot end (Fan pulls air from the hotend, making the filter unnecessary). IMPORTANT [2]: Currently, the Overlord 3D printer does not print files to their full 100% 3D size. A firmware update is required from Dreammaker to fix this issue, but in the meantime, perform a test print of the part. If it does not fit properly, scale it up or down in your slicer until you achieve a good fit. Edit 2015-06-22: Decreased clearance for a snugger fit. Make sure to press the backlash eliminator firmly onto the joints! Edit 2015-11-20: After five months, one of these items broke. I believe that PLA becomes brittle with time, so if this happens, try printing it in ABS or PETG to prevent the issue; Or just print one or two in PLA again and replace them, which is a more environmentally friendly option.
