Backgammon is an ancient board game dating back approximately 5,000 years in Middle Eastern archeological sites, particularly Iran.[1][2] It's a two-player competition where each player possesses fifteen checkers that traverse twenty-four triangles based on the outcomes of two dice rolls. The ultimate goal is to remove all one's checkers from the board before the opponent does so, making backgammon a member of the tables game family, one of the oldest types of board games.
