Back Up Sump Pump Alarm

My father-in-law's basement features a single sump pump well with two pumps inside - a primary and backup unit. Recently, the primary pump failed, prompting the backup pump to activate. However, its float switch was set too high, resulting in water seeping into the basement. We adjusted the float position of the backup pump to prevent future flooding. Additionally, we installed a water level alarm to alert us when the backup pump is running. This way, my father-in-law will be notified to purchase a new primary pump. The alarm's components include two items: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019Q3U72M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073FBK9FY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The 3D printed housing simply holds these components together, secured with button head #6 x 1/2" long sheet metal screws. https://www.mcmaster.com/#92470a148/=1dbzw71 An outlet splitter or power strip is also required. The setup involves plugging the float switch into a wall outlet, then connecting the outlet splitter to the float switch. Finally, plug the sump pump and alarm into the outlet splitter. Consequently, every time the backup pump receives power, so does the alarm - making noise in the process.
