We created this gaming guitar at CNCRouterParts.com for our Frets-on-Fire jam sessions during the 2015 Portland Mini Maker Faire. The body was crafted from MDF, although basswood would be a more ideal choice, using a CNC Router Parts Benchtop PRO and a 1/4" flat endmill for most of it; a 1/8 v-groove bit cut out the front body accent line. We designed a basic PIC microchip keyboard controller to manage the electronics, which incorporates inputs from five industrial limit switches and a small micro-lever for the stroke button.
