Back or Front Z Brace and Z Extensions (Z-Kit)

I've been using both Z-Braces and Z-Extensions from AzzA for some time now. They did exactly what I needed them to do, but my only problem was that the threaded rod kept getting in my way. So, the solution was simple: I had to find some Z-braces that wouldn't attach to the front. However, I couldn't find a single set that didn't use the front for the threaded rods. On top of that, I was using dampeners designed specifically for AzzA Z-braces, which made things even more complicated. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and create my own Z-Braces that would still allow me to use the dampeners. My solution was to combine both the Z-Braces and Z-Extensions into one single unit. This new Z-Brace attaches to the side Z-Extensions instead of the front, giving users the option to place them on either the front or back of their printer. I should note that I only have a Wanhao i3 v2, so I'm not sure if this will work with other printers. However, one thing to keep in mind is that there's not enough space for the nut covers on the extension parts. You can see this clearly in the pictures. If you're interested in learning more about how to make these modifications, be sure to check out our video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dEAQhl3Z5w. As for the feet shown in the pictures, they can be found on Thingiverse through the links below: The noise-vibration-canceling spikes by teknikk7 - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1786023 The dampeners by docpayce - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1572655 Print Settings: Printer: Wanhao duplicator i3 v2 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: .2 Infill: 100 Notes: I highly recommend printing the parts with high infill and shells for strength. I printed my original set in ABS, then acetone smoothed them for a nice look and strong part. I also printed the second white set in PLA since it has less warping. Edit Section: Added an edit section to clarify some things. Edit: 6/5/17 This has been sitting on my computer for a while now. I finally had time to get them printed out and take pictures, but it's still not finished yet. Edit: 2/8/17 I remixed the scraper holder z extension from azza into a z kit part. The right side when facing front is where that part goes on. Edit: 1/27/17 I uploaded some new pictures of the feet on my printer. Edit: 1/23/17 My first upload of a set of parts with leveling feet can be seen here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uC1peJXi7qE. I ran all the stl files through netfabb just in case. Edit: 1/18/17 I uploaded another new leg test and some pictures of it. Leg tests result in less filament waste and help refine things. Edit: 1/13/17 I added a different stl file for testing if the nut will snugly fit. Edit: 1/11/17 I added a new stl, which is a small test to see if the m6 nut for leveling feet will snugly fit. I printed my parts above in ABS and this test print in PLA. Edit: 1/9/17 Simply changed the thing to a work in progress since I plan to try and add a leveling feet option. Edit: 1/4/17 Ran all the stl files through Netfabb, if you have any issues let me know.
