Bachmann Gas Side Rod Boxcab Shell
thingiverse
This is a straightforward design for printing a basic On30 shell, compatible with Bachmann's gas-side rod locomotive. The pieces are printed flat and assembled into a 3D model by gluing them together. Having the components in this format makes it easier to sand and print the overall model. When attaching the front panels, make sure they are glued on the inside of the side panels. A helpful feature is that I added a "stop" to the side panels to simplify the gluing process. Some light sanding may be required on the tab parts to ensure a precise fit with the engine. As new designs become available, they will be added, allowing users to mix and match various components to create their own unique locomotive models. Although this design is marked as a work in progress, the uploaded files are fully functional. Print Settings: Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer Model: Ultimaker 2 Rafts: Not necessary Supports: None required Resolution: .06-.25 mm Infill: 5-100% Notes: Two front panels and two side panels of your choice need to be printed. They will lay flat on the printing bed. The roof is best printed vertically with a brim for stability.
