Isabel Leong, a 23-year-old Singaporean travel enthusiast, has visited over 105 cities in 30 countries, mostly funded by herself. She hopes that sharing her tips and experiences will inspire students to explore the world despite financial limitations. Traveling, she believes, can expose young people to new perspectives and teach valuable life skills such as adaptability, independence, social skills, and intercultural knowledge. Leong began supporting her own travels in 2013, visiting popular destinations like Bali and Phuket before venturing off the beaten path to smaller cities and towns worldwide. While studying in Rouen, France, she began traveling extensively throughout Europe. To keep costs low, she worked part-time, carefully managed her budget, and couch-surfed with hosts. Her advice for young travelers includes using a student card for discounts, avoiding ostentatious displays of wealth, and being bold enough to seize opportunities during their travels.
