The space ship was designed to resemble a futuristic star craft from an old TV show, but its origins are far more humble - it's a converted van with an odd mix of components and gizmos bolted on, like a makeshift lab built into the trunk of a family sedan. The exterior paint job looks eerily similar to a retro-futuristic model car kit, while inside, there are stacks of books and papers stacked up haphazardly on worn out tables, like some mad scientist's den in a forgotten sci-fi novel from the 50s.
