The Child was a male Force-sensitive Mandalorian foundling belonging to the same species as Jedi Grand Master Yoda and Jedi Master Yaddle. Born around 41 BBY, The Child was held captive at an encampment run by Nikto mercenaries on Arvala-7 during the New Republic Era. As an infant approaching fifty years old in age, he caught the attention of an Imperial who hired Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin to retrieve him. However, Djarin chose not to deliver The Child into Imperial hands and saved him from a facility left behind by the Empire's remnants. After attempting to keep The Child safe along the galaxy's fringes with him, Djarin returned to Nevarro to confront the Imperials relentlessly pursuing The Child in hopes of keeping him secure. In the process, The Child became a Mandalorian foundling and a member of Djarin's newly formed clan.
