The inside of the mask around the bridge of the nose isn't perfect, but its the inside... There is a cutout at the bottom for you to glue in your preferred filter. I've glued in a N95 filter and it works, but yes, N95's aren't the easiest to breathe through. I also recommend gluing on a 1" band of fun foam around the back edge to allow for a better seal (I have a full beard so don't know how well it seals without this as nothing seals well over a beard!) and added comfort.
