Baby Sword Rattle
thingiverse
Deck out your little Warrior or Paladin with the latest high-tech weapon from the cutting-edge forge. Print and assembly video available here: https://youtu.be/WZlEAdIAsHw Raffle results and 2x scaled up version of this innovative design can be found here: https://youtu.be/8G_hFToIXKc Safety was a top priority when designing this awesome new sword. To prevent any potential choking hazard caused by the jewel dislodging from the pommel, I added an extra pommel (pommel2) that eliminates the need for it altogether. A fun bonus is coming your way - an additional rattle will be given away at the end of April 2016. Simply send an email to contest@targsworkshop.com with "sword rattle" as the subject to enter the drawing. This awesome sword rattle has been featured on several popular blogs and websites, including Make Magizine: http://makezine.com/2016/04/02/epic-3d-printed-baby-rattler-sword/, Gizmodo: http://toyland.gizmodo.com/prepare-your-child-for-pre-school-with-a-3d-printed-bab-1769339816, and Adafruit: https://blog.adafruit.com/2016/03/31/baby-sword-rattle-3dthursday-3dprinting/. To ensure a great rattle sound, print the peas first in two groups - this combination produces the most satisfying noise. Then, when the blade is half-way printed, drop the peas into the open end to keep them secure inside. No support material should be necessary for printing this design. To assemble the toy, use superglue or 5-minute epoxy to securely attach all parts together. As with any 3D printed toy, parental supervision is a must-have. Discard any broken toys immediately, as they can pose a choking hazard due to small sharp pieces. I drew inspiration for this design from dutchmogul's Baby's First Mace, scaling and styling it to create something truly unique.
