Baby Seal - Valve Cap

Baby Seal - Valve Cap

thingiverse

I designed a custom baby seal valve cap for my daughter's unicycle. It was also my first attempt to finish a printed object with sanding and painting, and I'm relatively pleased with how it turned out despite some areas needing more work. For reference: * The print was done at 0.1 layer height using PETG. * It was sanded with 400 grit sandpaper. * Tamiya primer was applied. * White acrylic paint was brushed on. * Bumps were smoothed with 600 grit sandpaper and wet-sanding. * Additional coats of white acrylic paint were airbrushed. * Fine brush strokes with acrylic paint added eyes and a nose. * Seven layers of enamel clear coat finished it off. I've included both "short" and "long" versions in the files, which differ in how they handle manual support for the fins - one version combines pectoral fins and thread start at the same layer, while the other has a longer thread section.
