Baby Rattle

Baby Rattle

This is a fundamental generic baby toy, a rattle. I designed custom versions for my grandkids that are displayed in the photo. You can personalize your own by modifying the file in Meshmixer or any other 3D design software you prefer. The part's wall thickness is .125 inches (3.2 mm), which allows for a cut of about .05 inches (1.2 mm) deep without any issues. This rattle is printed as a single piece, with the printing process involving the addition of approximately 1/2 teaspoon of dried lentils into the hollow base. The filament color can be changed during the print process. As the printing continues, it will encapsulate the lentils to create the sound-producing mechanism. I opted for PLA as the printing material because the toy is intended for young children who may put it in their mouth.
