Baby NES Case for Raspberry Pi 3
thingiverse
There are numerous files, bear with me as I've put in considerable effort on this one. For this remix of the Baby NES Case, I utilized the bottom from jrebeiro and the top and lid from CyB. NES Bottom: I downsized the supports to fit snugly around the Pi 3 so that none of the chips would rest on them. Additionally, I incorporated an LED hole and a mount for the LED. A 3mm LED fits perfectly in the mount and can be secured with glue. To simplify SD card removal, I engraved a mushroom into the back of the case above the slot. There are three variations: a standard bottom, one with lines engraved, and one designed for dual color printing. The model with lines allows for easier painting of black lines. The dual color printing version has objects spaced exactly 20mm apart; simply separate them in your slicing software and move them over exactly 20mm for perfect alignment. NES Top: I added the top half of the mushroom engrave to the design. I wanted some wiggle room when combining the bottom and top, so I indented the supports rather than making them flush. This allows the case to be assembled more smoothly if it doesn't print perfectly. I also expanded the screw holes slightly. Like the bottom, there are three variations available. NES Lid: I reinforced the lid to make it more durable. You can choose from six different lids: NES Logo, NES Text, Retropie Logo, Retroberry Logo, Mushberry, or a Plain lid. There are also five dual color printing variations for each lid type, with objects exactly 10mm apart; simply separate them in your slicing software and move them over exactly 10mm for perfect alignment. The dual color models are flush, while the regular models are embossed. There's an STL file for a tiny LED lens insert as well. Print it in clear filament and insert it into the LED hole (I used pliers to squeeze it in). It fits perfectly snug on its own or can be glued in place for a more permanent solution. It looks great and diffuses the LED light perfectly. I put a lot of effort into this project, and it turned out amazing. Thanks to jrebeiro and CyB for their original models. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to ask; most importantly, share your creations! UPDATE: I've added a new plain version of the top with wider vents.
