Baby Iron Giant
cults3d
I designed this keyring following a request from a mutual acquaintance. When I viewed images of the Iron Giant, its long, slender legs and arms caught my eye - I wondered how to print such delicate features while also making them strong enough for everyday use as a keychain. A subsequent image of a baby Iron Giant convinced me that this design would be perfect for a keyring. The exaggerated and enlarged features will add a touch of whimsy to any keychain. The model itself, when loaded into a slicer, appears larger than necessary. I made this deliberate choice, thinking it better to scale down the model rather than up. If you prefer a larger keyring, you can easily adjust the size to suit your needs. I scaled the model in the photo to 0.45, resulting in a height of 80mm. To minimize support material and simplify printing, I divided the model into two halves. After gluing these halves together, I provided STL files for the complete model as well as versions with and without the ring on top of the head.
