Baby Chick Water Bottle Dish
thingiverse
We've made the chicks' drinking dish from PET plastic bottles and designed it to prevent water contamination. You can see how we created it on our live webcam at the Ross School's EcoLab. Our innovation lab students raised some chicks in school, but they needed a clean water dish. To avoid bacterial growth and ensure a healthy environment, we built a specialized container for them. Instructions are below: You don't need support when printing out two of these designs – just use whatever settings you find best for your equipment if liquids don't leak from any of the prints you've done before. One in PLA with high fill percentage has been successful; an Ultimaker 2 works great, too. If the top one does start to leak a lot because water puts pressure on it due enough space there are others smaller that work well too like Sprue's Bird Feeder Base.
