I designed and built a custom mount for my B3 Innovations Pico Hot End, perfect for use with my Rostock Max 3D printer from SeeMeCNC (Gen 1). To fit snugly into the hot end groove mount slot on the Pico, I opted for a split design that combines two halves. These are securely fastened together by two bolts and nuts. Instructions for printing this mount can be found below: Printed on a Replicator with ABS plastic at .3 layer height, 50% fill, and six shells. The core is the part that fits into the groove mount slot on the Pico hot end, and I've split it to make assembly easier. For a secure fit, I added M3 x 40mm and M3 35mm bolts to hold the two halves together. You'll also notice a hole in the Core plate that allows heater and thermistor wires to pass through from the Pico to your printer. Initially, I designed a ring to hold the two halves of the core together, but after testing, I found it allowed too much play for a tight fit. Now, this ring can be used as a spacer or omitted altogether. The existing metal spacers from my original hot end mount were reused. A flat area has been added to the mount to accommodate a fan. When assembling the plate, ensure that the flat area is positioned between two arms to allow sufficient clearance for the fan. Do not attempt to run the Rostock without testing clearances by moving the head around – you may regret it.
