First and foremost, than you to the contest organizers for providing an amazing fileset to work from. For my design I tried to focus on realistic performance. While style is important, 2,400 hp is useless if you can't keep it cooled. The design constraints placed by the radiator placement dictated much of the styling: primary emphasis was placed on guiding air through the bodywork to maximize cooling. Secondarily, downforce was considered. A big, bold (functional) wing tied the entire look together. To keep the car balanced the center of the front grill sucks in large amounts of air, cools the steering components, then exhausts it through the hood, acting like a humongous front wing. Classic curves and bold body lines tie the two regions together while the engine cover evokes visions of Daytona Protoypes flying around the steep banking.Standing still or racing at full-throttle, you just can't look away.Note: SolidWorks model was created in SolidWorks 2016 so older versions will not be able to open it; use the parasolid version instead.
