B-Struder for Bondtech Drive Gears
thingiverse
Inspired by https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2243325 The extruder tension is adjustable using a hex key, allowing users to fine-tune their printer's performance with precision. A compression spring and pivots around a shoulder bolt provide the necessary tension. This part is specifically designed for use with 1.75mm filament, ensuring optimal print quality and minimizing any potential issues related to filament bending. Let me know what you think of this design. ### Updates 1. I've added a universal bracket (CageMount) that enables users to mount their extruder in any orientation. This change required minor adjustments to all the parts, so please re-download if you have already printed it. Although this updated version should be functional, it remains untested. The design is intended for use with a 30mm length NEMA 17 Motor but does not guarantee compatibility with various cable and connector configurations on different motors. If you can provide me with your motor's CAD file, I'll be happy to create a custom backstop tailored to its specifications. 2. A new 90-Deg Bracket has been added for those who prefer easier mounting over the CageMount option. 3. The Filament Guide/Idler Block has undergone modifications that eliminate the need for a nylon washer. 4. The BOM (Bill of Materials) has been updated, sourcing an alternative one-touch pneumatic fitting. ### Bill of Materials 1. Two Bondtech drive gears with spindle bearing 2. A NEMA 17 Stepper Motor - Note: This current backstop will only work with motors that are 39mm in length or shorter, similar to the Prusia I3 Mk3 extruder motor. 3. One Alloy Shoulder Bolt (4mm diameter, 25mm length), M3x0.50 [McMaster-Carr 92981A745] 4. Two One-Touch Fittings (4mm diameter to M6) [McMaster-Carr 7880T391] 5. Three M3x0.50 x 25mm SHCS [McMaster-Carr 91292A020] 6. One M3x22 Alloy Dowel Pin [McMaster-Carr 91595A126] - Note: These alloy pins are hardened, providing longer lifespan when used with the Bondtech spindle bearing. 7. One M6x1 x 5 mm Set Screw [McMaster-Carr 92605A122] 8. One Spring [McMaster-Carr 9657K267], or an equivalent product 9. Four M3 threaded inserts [McMaster-Carr 94510A030]
