The Challenge:
Imagine this: You wake up one morning and the weather is perfect. You're eager to hit the beach, but you live too far away, so you grab your car keys. To pay for parking, you reach for your phone. As a result, you end up carrying several essential items: Car keys, Drivers License, Phone, and Towel. What do you do with these items when it's time to take the plunge? Leave them unattended at your towel? That's just not safe. This problem cries out for a solution ...
The Answer
For this issue, I developed a portable safe called the B-Safe. The "B" stands for beach or for my name, Bastiaan - pronounced as Be Safe.
How It Works:
Each B-Safe comes with its own personal pincode programmed in. When it's turned off, the box is open. You simply place your valuable items inside, flip the switch to turn it on, close and lock it, then enter your secret code. The B-Safe is now armed and secure. If someone tries to take your box, one of the LED lights will flash for a few seconds. If there's still movement after that, a loud alarm will sound - and won't stop until you enter the right pincode again. But if you enter it quickly enough during the movement, the B-Safe disarms. It's not recommended to use the B-Safe on an empty beach. The idea is that when someone walks or runs over the beach with a noisy box, bystanders will intervene.
