The Convair B-36, also known as the Peacemaker, was an American long-range, multi-engine propeller-driven heavy bomber aircraft developed during World War II and used by the United States Air Force until the 1950s. It was the largest and heaviest mass-produced aircraft in history, with a wingspan of over 200 feet and a maximum takeoff weight of more than 300,000 pounds. Its six piston engines powered it to speeds up to 387 mph and distances up to 9,450 miles. Its primary role was strategic bombing, but it also served in various other roles such as aerial reconnaissance and air refueling.
