B-29 themed Pringles can rocket
thingiverse
Another warbird themed remix of my F-Bomb Rocket (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3123333), this one should only fly on an E motor. You WILL need parts from the F-Bomb rocket to complete this one, this thing includes ONLY the alternative parts to that original design. In my rocket based alternative to WWII, the B-29 was one of the key rocket bombers of WWII (alternative universe). One of these, the "Roll Initiative" (Because in my alternative universe D&D was invented before WWII) was chosen to deliver the atomic bomb. On that fateful day, as the B-29 rocket soared over enemy territory (Pick your own enemies, it's an alternative universe after all), Col Fibbits was heard to exclaim as the bomb left the bomb bay..."HA! NAT 20! Take that beotches!" This rocket uses two Pringles cans as outer body tubes and a BT-50 sized tube as the engine tube. Note, the engine tube should extend through the coupler used to join the two Pringles cans. Not only does this extension focus the ejection charge better, the coupler itself keeps the parachute and cargo in the top half of the body tube for better weight balancing. Even so, I still used a couple washers for weight in the nose. There are two versions of the "Little Boy" bomb included in the design. One uses a piece of BT-50 for the main body tube. This version is only slightly lighter than the fully 3D printed version, however, and once you add paint, the weight difference is pretty much gone so the fully 3D printed version is easier. I'd forgo the chute on the bomb and instead use a foot or two of streamer material. The bomb is really light enough as it is and a streamer would be easier to spot. I did not get a video of the launch, but it flew nice and true to 375 feet on an E12-4 (per the included graph from my Jolly Logic Altimeter Three).
