The origins of the B-2 date back to the Advanced Technology Bomber (ATB) black project initiated by the US government in 1979. As presidential candidate Ronald Reagan campaigned on a platform of restoring American military power, the Department of Defense publicly confirmed its development of stealth aircraft, including the ATB, on August 22, 1980. The ATB competition narrowed down to Northrop and Rockwell, each receiving study contracts to further develop their designs. Both teams successfully developed flying prototypes that met or exceeded expectations. Price: $99.00 Date added: Aug 06, 2015 Last update: Nov 06, 2015 Product id: 55c3592eccff75b0688b45aa
