The new design was created with the X5 v1.0 in mind, utilizing pin terminals as the original specifications called for. However, several modifications were made to accommodate the v1.1, which extended several mm at the front end, making it incompatible with the original mounting holes. As a result, users now have to remove the board from its enclosure to connect or disconnect any circuits. The revised mount features columns shifted backward by several mm and a significant redesign of the top edge wiring, converting the "troughs" into slots that provide direct access to the screw terminals' openings. Additionally, holes were drilled for heavier-gauge power wires, heater wires, and the ribbon cable connector typically found on a ViKi panel.
