Azteeg X5 Mini to Print-Rite DIY mounting adapter w/USB cable clamp
thingiverse
My third revision of an adapter to mount an Azteeg X5 Mini board to a Print-Rite DIY printer's controller board mounting holes is complete. The original controller board screws can be used to secure the adapter to the original holes and the Azteeg board is mounted with M3 screws, which I found worked flawlessly using M3x8 machine screws. This revision also includes a clamping point for the USB cable, a crucial addition that prevents damage during use. The mini USB connector proved to be fragile and easily disconnected by minimal cable movement, but the clamp eliminates this risk altogether. To secure the USB cable in place, zip ties up to 3mm wide can be used, and I opted for 1mm wide ties. A note on the design: the version pictured had a minor error in the upper right corner that has been corrected in this revised print. The original drawing was created using SketchUp. Print Settings: Printer: Print-Rite DIY Rafts: Not required Supports: None needed Resolution: Tested up to 0.3mm with excellent results Infill: A 35% infill worked perfectly Notes: Due to the adapter's large size, be sure to achieve good bed adhesion for a successful print.
