AZIZ 85mm ring light for Leica microscope
thingiverse
At work, we use a Leica microscope with an 85mm OD M series lens; I designed a ring light to suit this since none were available in the market. The lens specifications can be found at http://spectraservices2.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=10450030. Attached are schematic and gerber data to self-build the boards. My printer rebooted before completing the print job, leaving an incomplete skirt below the PCB - fortunately, it turned out better for our application due to limited clearance between the sample and lens. The lights are grouped into quadrants for different lighting methods, as demonstrated in this video: http://youtu.be/Adb1nxOA1uM. I hope this is useful. The PCB can also be used with a smaller USB microscope (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:105056). My print settings were 0.3mm layers and 20% infill, without a skirt due to limited bed space.
