Azimut and Altitude Table for OAT (OpenAstroTracker)
thingiverse
After several difficulties with last attempts to take photos with the OAT, some points still bothered me during the setup. To align the azimuth axis, the substrate must be forced in the spirit level to get no further inaccuracies when adjusting. Therefore, I had the idea of an adjustable table. The table must of course have three legs for this. The automatic azimuth and Altitude adjustment I generally did not want to install, because I wanted to set this manually. After a while, the correct table (https://www.lidl.de/p/livarno-living-beistelltisch/p100266796) was bought and this is what it has now become. First, you set up the base by adjusting the feet so that the upper surface is completely level. This is important so that when turning the azimuth axis the rotation happens completely horizontal and no further inaccuracies creep in. Next, the OAT is placed on the gear (there are special recesses for the feet). With the side wheel you can turn the gear wheel and rotate the complete OAT with it. The fixing screw is used to fix the gear wheel so that it can no longer be adjusted. After that, the azimuth and altitude (rear screw on the OAT) are aligned normally via N.I.N.A and drift alignment.
