This stunning Federal-era house (http://classicalamericanhomes.org/ayr-mount/) built in 1815 is now a digital masterpiece thanks to a groundbreaking collaboration between leading public and private institutions. The UNC Chapel Hill Research Laboratories of Archaeology (https://sketchfab.com/rla-archaeology) joined forces with Aer Analytica LLC (Raleigh, NC USA), Charlotte Aerial Solutions LLC (Charlotte, NC USA), and vaireco GmbH (Konstanz, Germany) to bring this historical landmark into the digital age. The georeferenced model boasts an impressive average Ground Sampling Distance (GSD) or pixel size of 6.5 mm, resulting in a calibrated model with accuracy within 1 cm.
