Ayers Rock / Uluru
thingiverse
Here is a simplified model of Australia's famous Ayers Rock, created from Google Maps data imported into Sketchup. By adding planes to the model every 2.5 meters and then using Sketchup's sandbox tool, a topographical model showcasing heights was achieved. A base layer was added for better support during printing. Once printed, the object's bottom was reduced to its desired level of resolution. Printing Specifications: This model was printed with 20% infill settings in accordance with UM standard values. Printing Tip: To achieve the correct print height, I simply doubled the Z-axis value on my 3D printer software.
